House buying - interesting facts and figures

We have been reading some interesting facts and figures about house buying over the last few months and thought you might be interested in them too.

Did you know:
  • Over 70% of potential buyers search for a new house online
  • There are an average of 71 properties that match each buyers' criteria
  • 40% of people drive past a house before deciding whether to view it
  • The average viewing lasts 17 minutes (less than half the average time spent on choosing a new outfit)

These are all facts revealed by independent surveys and indicate how important the initial impressions of your property are. In amongst all the properties on view, you want to make sure yours stays on the "to view" list rather than falling off it. Photographs need to show a property that is appealing outside and inside.

Kerb appeal is highly important to get viewers over the threshold. Dont let viewers be put off by an unwelcoming exterior.

Once inside your property, viewers spend relatively little time actually looking round. In the little time they have, dont make them guess how much they would enjoy living in your house. Make it easy for viewers by presenting your property effectively.
